Below is an explanation of the areas you can discover during a round trip through Honduras.

Copán Ruinas

Copán is a Mayan city located in western Honduras, just across the border with Guatemala. What makes this ancient city special is that many ruins have been well preserved. This makes it a special place for travellers as well as researchers and archaeologists. Due to the many details in the structures, Copán is also known as the ‘Paris of the Mayas’. As you walk around here, you will see carved figures with exquisite details.

To this day, many mysteries remain, such as the meaning of the texts on the stones that are unable to be translated. Moreover, structures are still being discovered. The Mayan city can be reached from the nearby mountain village of Copán Ruinas. What makes this village stand out is the distinctive center with colorful houses and atmospheric restaurants. Additionally, the Macaw Mountain Bird Park, is located nearby, where colorful birds and parrots can be seen in their natural environment.

Roatán

The Bay Islands lie approximately fifty kilometers off the coast. They are characterized by paradisiacal beaches, a turquoise sea, and a stunning underwater world. The islands are also known as ‘the Maldives of Honduras.’ Roatán is the largest island and is accessible by boat or by plane, offering magnificent views of the islands and the sea.
