Panama City

The capital Panama City is primarily known for the world-famous Panama Canal, but the city has much more to offer. Uniquely, the city is surrounded by pristine rainforests, which can be seen from the plane. It is a metropolis with high skyscrapers and large shopping centers on the one hand, but also with a historic center ‘Casco Viejo’, an atmospheric boulevard, local markets and unspoilt natural areas.

Stroll through the streets of Casco Viejo past old churches, colorful buildings and cozy squares. Cycle the Amador Causeway, built to connect four islands to the city and protect the Panama Canal. In addition, take a look at the Miraflores Locks visitor center near the Panama Canal and learn all about how the canal came to be.

San Blas Islands

The San Blas archipelago consists of more than 350 small islands, of which about fifty are inhabited by the Kuna community. This community is known for its colorful clothing. The islands are formed by swaying palm trees and pearly white sandy beaches surrounded by an azure blue sea. Amazing for snorkeling and swimming.

Bocas del Toro is an archipelago in northwest Panama, on the Caribbean coast. The archipelago is known for its beautiful islands, beaches and nature. Boca Chica

Boca Chica is a small fishing village on Panama’s Pacific coast. The place is first and foremost the gateway to the Chiriqui National Park. Boquete

Boquete is a small village in western Panama with local shops, atmospheric restaurants and a market. Boquete is surrounded by untouched nature, namely by mystical cloud forests and extensive coffee plantations. During a trip through Panama, an overnight stay here should not be missed. Discover the village, then walk through the cloud forest along the streams, rivers and waterfalls and look for the special bird the quetzal. Also take a tour of a coffee plantation or enjoy an adventurous activity such as ziplining, rafting or horseback riding. It is also possible to climb the nearby Barú volcano. This volcano is the highest point in Panama with a height of 3,475 meters.

There are several options for flying to Panama. With more than ten years of experience, Unico Travel can advise you on the most attractive flights. KLM flies directly from Amsterdam to Panama City. The flight time is approximately 11 hours. It is also possible to fly from Brussels with Iberia Airlines via a stopover in Madrid to Panama City. The flight time is then approximately 16 hours. You can book the international flight directly or have it secured by Unico Travel.
Panama is a safe country to travel through with a rental car. With an adventurous 4×4 you will travel on the Pan-American Highway past pristine natural areas, cross rivers and drive through the mountains. Most roads are paved, but there are also unpaved paths to the less touristy places. This makes the trip very adventurous. Unico Travel has been working with the same car rental company for years and ensures that the rental car is always fully insured. It is also possible to travel with a private driver. The advantage of this is that you can fully enjoy the landscapes and the driver explains the area. Furthermore, in some parts of our Panama tours you travel by shuttle bus, such as from Boquete to Almirante. You also sail by boat to the archipelagos of Bocas del Toro and San Blas. At the end of the trip, you fly by domestic flight from Bocas del Toro to Panama City or by charter plane to the San Blas Islands.
