The capital Panama City is primarily known for the world-famous Panama Canal, but the city has much more to offer. Uniquely, the city is surrounded by pristine rainforests, which can be seen from the plane. It is a metropolis with high skyscrapers and large shopping centers on the one hand, but also with a historic center ‘Casco Viejo’, an atmospheric boulevard, local markets and unspoilt natural areas.
Stroll through the streets of Casco Viejo past old churches, colorful buildings and cozy squares. Cycle the Amador Causeway, built to connect four islands to the city and protect the Panama Canal. In addition, take a look at the Miraflores Locks visitor center near the Panama Canal and learn all about how the canal came to be.
Unico Travel also organizes trips where you can sail through the Panama Canal for a half or full day. A dream for many travellers! Contact us for more information.
